PayUp costs money in two separate ways: a club subscription (so your club can keep using PayUp) and a small transaction fee on each online payment a player makes. Every new club starts with a 30-day free trial with full access to every feature.
Club subscription
After the trial, your club subscribes to keep using PayUp — billed monthly or annually (annual works out cheaper). You can see current pricing on the pricing page, and manage or cancel your club's subscription any time from Settings → Billing (owner only). Cancelling stops billing at the end of the current period — there's no lock-in.
The subscription covers unlimited players, teams, seasons, payment types, games, and expenses, plus all admin and player functionality — there's no separate charge for any of that.
Transaction fees

This fee only applies when a player pays online, and is deducted from the club's share — players always pay the exact payment amount shown. Manual payments (cash, bank transfer) recorded by an admin don't incur this fee.
No hidden charges
Beyond the subscription and the per-transaction fee on online payments, there are no other charges — no setup fees, and no extra cost for adding players, teams, or clubs.
